Call for Nominations for New WHNA Board Members
Would you like to play a larger role in Washington Heights? We are looking for Washington Heights residents to join the board of directors of the Washington Heights Neighborhood Association.
Board members serve 2 year terms representing the area of the neighborhood they live in or are at-large members. They attend monthly board meetings; serve on committees lending their time, talent and expertise; assist with delivering Highlighter magazines two times per year (Spring and Fall); are present and volunteer at our neighborhood events, and more. A new board member orientation will take place on June 14, 2023 at 6:30PM (location and details provided once elected). Newly elected board members are expected to attend orientation.
Terms for this election cycle begin July 1, 2023 and run for 2 years, ending on June 30, 2025.
Elections will be held at the Annual WHNA Meeting that will take place on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 6PM at St. Sebastian Parish. We will reach out to you with more information about the meeting. Candidates are expected to be present at the meeting.
Anyone who wishes to run for a board position must be an up-to-date member of the Washington Heights Neighborhood Association and maintain their paid membership throughout their elected term. Please note: Anyone who holds any elected public office MAY NOT hold an elected WHNA position, per WHNA by-laws.
